Buy packing materials and pack everything you can by your self. You can save a lot of money on most common types of moves when you are using your own packing materials and packing skills.

- Pack by your self – Pack everything that you can by your self. It is very easy to pack. You don’t need to be a professional mover to pack most of your household goods. You just need to make sure that everything that you pack will be 100% protected from breaking, 100% protected from scratches and 100% protected from water damages. Leave the free packing services that most moving companies offer such as, free packing with moving blankets to the moving companies. Just make sure that the movers don’t charge you for packaging tape because the movers need to use packing tapes with the moving blankets. Buying the packing materials all by yourself guarantee a good amount of saving then purchasing it from the moving company. Also you get the ground feel after doing so also by packing yourself you do the same. But i would say that a professional hand is much more needed for this job as due to your lack of experience in packing you might damage many of your belongings. Without saving a lot it might cost you a lot. Thus think twice before doing it by yourself!
